All that we see or seem

As much as I love postcards, there is nothing quite like receiving a hand-written letter in the mail. All the more special when there are other surprises inside. Knowing someone took the time, thought and energy to send you something original is just wonderful.

Something Blue from sendsomething.net sent me this marvelous package. I mean, just look at the envelope!

This is from quite the Poe fan, I don't know if you can tell? (look at that vintage stamp!) As part of the set, I received a few little extras...

Along with a very macabre printout of Poe in his coffin, with an anecdote about his death.
True, Something Blue, 'Tis the season, after all. ;)

There was a card with a lovely letter inside, in beautiful calligraphy. This was, in fact, a tagback letter from a Wizard of Oz postcard I had sent earlier this month. I'll have to think of something creative to send back :)

Happy Halloween,

Charlie

Commodore

Posting this strange postcard at the witching hour on the most witch-ing-est of days. Halloween is my favorite holiday, I absolutely love all of the traditions from around the world (especially Dia de los Muertos).

Anyway, back to the postcard...

PS. Because I like interesting facts: The Hotel Commodore was originally built and opened on January 28, 1919 but is now the Grand Hyatt New York.

Postcrossings on their way!

A Business Trip

I received a most interesting postcard: A woman from Moscow sent a Russian postcard with Deutschland stamps, postmarked at Briefzentrum 80 (Munich). Wow!

I would love to know where/what this place is!

Congrats on the engagement, Polina!

Letter Box

Another tagback from Book Chick on sendsomething.net:

Last time: Fairies

The postmark on the back from 18 October 2014 says "Go Team San Francisco!"

I think it's awesome that the post office is supporting their team (Giants versus Royals in the Series right now, btw).

Also, I love the regulars on sendsomething that always tagback!
