Correspondence Blogs

So, earlier this month I sent a Harry Potter postcard to Shannon in Louisiana. Surfing some correspondence-y blogs today, I found my postcard! This made my day :)
The post I found it in.
And she has an Esty Shop.

Oborniki

Dominik from Poland sent me this postcard:

Sprout 2001

I received this postcard today from Yu-Hsin Chen in Taiwan!

She said how funny Barney is on How I Met Your Mother (So true!) and asked for music recommendations. Well! Here's what I told her: The Lumineers - Ho Hey, Mumford & Sons, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Johnny Cash, Avenged Sevenfold, and the Allman Brothers Band.

I love the card, and I would love to visit Taiwan someday. It's on my bucket list!

Amphiprion Ocellaris

sent to a friend in Omaha, back in April i think.
Clownfish have been my favorite since elementary school, way before Finding Nemo came out.

Is love alive?

Earlier in 2012 I received this postcard from Brittany Ukulele, who asked what music makes me cry. I sent this postcard to her August 11, 2012:

I wrote down 2 songs that make me sentimental (for clarification, I do not cry). The Harry Potter soundtrack, because it's all over and it was such a big part of me for so long. Also, Winter Song by Sara Bareilles and Ingrid Michaelson because it reminds me of my sister Jennifer. She lives very far away and I miss her very much.

Thanks Bee!

Way back in October 2007, Bee sent me this postcard:
It was a tagback for a postcard I sent her with a quote on it. She bought this hand-painted postcard at her local flea market.

Then in December she sent a Christmas card telling me to join sendsomething (Thanks Bee!)

I finally sent her something back in April 2011:

Cellphonepostcards

Today I sent a postcard to Sylvie in France, using Cellphonepostcards. The first one is free!

I took this picture a few years ago in Omaha, NE. I was shocked that such a pretty place existed in the middle of downtown. I had always thought Omaha was terrible, and this was the first time I actually questioned that. Now that I've moved away, I realize how not-terrible it was, and I miss it very much.

Souvenirs

I happened upon the postcrossing blog today, and the most recent post was about unique postcards. I really like Femke's postcard with souvenirs from her country:

You can see more at her website.

I'm shocked at the state maps, I though it would be more! Only 41% done. I'll have to work on that!

Recipe

sent to Michael in Germany, who like recipes. Postcrossing.
I said if he replied, I would send him a recipe. I can't seem to find his reply postcard (or if he did respond I don't even know). But I'm sending him a recipe anyway:

Even Fairies Get Headaches

<Get ready for another long one>

In June 2012 I sent this postcard to the Book Chick in Sunnyvale, CA, with a list of my 10 favorite things.
Marcelle Lender Dancing the Bolero in "Chilperic" - Henri Toulouse-Lautrec

She sent back this postcard with her 10 favorite things listed on the back:
She also sent an envelope with some art:
"Even Fairies get headaches"

A photo taken in Alaska

And some digital art:
"Hey Stud"
"Specimen"

I think I'll use these for bookmarks!

So today I'm sending her another handmade card and envelope from the Character Sketches book, along with a recipe and a Friendship Booklet (FB) for Mika in Poland. (I didn't know what it was, so I had to look it up; there's a good tutorial over at Squidoo)

I added some color to this one:

It's Launcelot Gobbo from Shakespeare's "Merchant of Venice." I added the book's description to the inside of the card:

And finally, a picture of my new stamps. I was tired of the same old forever stamps, and asked the lady at the post office for some neat ones. So here are my new bonsai stamps:
